Coimbatore : Police have arrested a person for hurling stones at the house of Minister SP Velumani near Kuniyamuthur here, today.
Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani resides at Mailkal Nagar near Kuniyamuthur here. Reportedly, some miscreant had hurled stone at the Minister’s house during late night yesterday in which the window mirror was damaged.
On hearing the noise, Police who were on duty for security at Minister’s house chased and nabbed the person few distances away from the house.
According to Police, on investigation, the person was identified as Sivadas (27) of Palakkad. Police added that the person was mentally disturbed and was in an inebriated state at the time, he was nabbed.
"He was working at an iron shop near to the Minister’s house", the Police said.
