Tirupur : Udumalpet Police Inspector was sentenced one year prison in connection to his involvement in a land abduction case.
Thangamuthu of Uththupalayam near Dharapuram in Tirupur filed a petition at Dharapuram Criminal Court in 2013 alleging that Revenue officials, Police and 7 others had assisted a farmer named Chinnasamy to abduct Thangamuthu’s 4.80 acre agriculture land worth Rs. 25 lakhs.
During the hearing of the case at Dharapuram Criminal Court today, Magistrate sentenced Udumalpet Police inspector Sivakumar to serve one year in prison for acting in favour of land abduction.
However, Inspector Sivakumar was granted bail immediately after the judgement.
