EASA Engineering and Technology College students in Coimbatore's Navakkarai have won second place at 'Revora-26', a national-level nitro RC race car competition held recently by Erode Velalar Engineering and Technology College's Mechanical Engineers Association and SAE India Club. Team Apex Club, comprising second-year mechanical engineering students Rohit, Surya, Rajaganapathi, Abilash, Thaneswaran and Renison, won the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 7,000 among 30 teams from 20 engineering colleges and race car clubs. The college management and faculty praised the students for their achievement.
Coimbatore: Students of EASA Engineering and Technology College in Navakkarai have won second place in a national-level mini race car competition, bringing recognition to the institution's mechanical engineering department.
Competitions involving small-scale race cars between engineering colleges and related departments have been gaining popularity in recent times, with mechanical engineering students showing particular interest in this format. These miniature race cars function much like real race cars, fitted with engines that run on nitro ethanol fuel and having a capacity of 3.5 cc. Similar to actual car races, these vehicles are operated using remote controls on race tracks, with the leading cars selected for the top three prizes.
In this context, the Mechanical Engineers Association and SAE India Club of Erode Velalar Engineering and Technology College's Mechanical Engineering department recently organised a national-level mini race car competition titled "Revora-26" Nitro RC Racing.
The event saw participation from 30 teams representing 20 engineering colleges and mini race car clubs. From EASA Engineering and Technology College in Coimbatore's Navakkarai, a team called "Team Apex Club" comprising second-year BE mechanical engineering students Rohit, Surya, Rajaganapathi, Abilash, Thaneswaran and Renison secured second place, winning a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 7,000.
EASA Engineering and Technology College chairperson T.E. Sujatha, secretary T.E. Ajith and treasurer T.E. Adarsh commended the students for their achievement. Principal Z. Robert Kennedy, department head Rajesh Ruban and other professors also praised the students.
