Tirupur : A youth, Arun Kumar, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case of gang raping a minor girl in Tirupur.
According to the case registered at the Tirupur North Womens police station in 2016, a 15-year old girl was gang raped by three persons at an abandoned place in Golden Nagar in Tirupur. Police had arrested two minors and Arunkumar, who was working in a garment firm in Tirupur. The case on the two minors was transferred to the Children’s Court, whereas Arun Kumar was detained under the POCSO Act.
At the hearing of the case today at the Tirupur Womens Court, Judge Jeyanthi sentenced Arun Kumar to life imprisonment.
