Dengue Awareness, Pipeline Repairs, and Sanitation Works Inspected in Peelamedu

Coimbatore Corporation's Ward 27 in Peelamedu conducted a dengue awareness programme for school students. Councillor Ambika Danapal inspected drinking water pipe repairs, waste collection services, and directly enquired with residents about water supply, street lights, and drainage maintenance in the area.

Coimbatore: A comprehensive dengue fever awareness programme for school students and various civic infrastructure works were conducted today in Ward No. 27 Peelamedu area under Coimbatore Corporation North Zone in Singanallur Assembly constituency.

At the Coimbatore Corporation Primary School, a dengue fever awareness programme was organized for students through the Primary Health Centre doctor and nurses. The event saw participation from the school headmaster, teachers, and Peelamedu Ward Councillor Ambika Danapal, who explained dengue prevention measures to the students. The interactive session aimed at educating young minds about the symptoms, prevention methods, and precautionary measures against dengue fever.

Simultaneously, repair work was undertaken on a damaged Sewage (Suez) drinking water pipeline in Peelamedu Purani Colony. Ward Councillor Ambika Danapal personally inspected the repair works on site. After the pipeline repair was completed, she instructed the Sewage supervisor to restore the road area with concrete flooring to ensure proper restoration of the affected section.

Furthermore, Councillor Ambika Danapal personally visited and inspected the daily waste collection operations in the Peelamedu Perumal Kovil Street area. She verified whether the battery-operated auto used for garbage collection was arriving on schedule and ensuring timely waste removal from the locality.

Subsequently, she engaged directly with residents to enquire about various basic amenities. She asked whether drinking water was being supplied properly once every six days, if saltwater was available daily, whether drainage systems were being cleaned properly, if street lights were functioning correctly, and whether mosquito fogging was being conducted once a week as scheduled. This direct interaction allowed her to assess the ground reality of civic services.

Through this detailed inspection, the councillor ensured that basic amenities were being properly provided in the Ward 27 area. She directly listened to the grievances of residents and initiated measures to find solutions to their problems. The proactive approach demonstrated the councillor's commitment to maintaining public health standards and ensuring proper civic infrastructure in the ward.
