The Aliyar Dam, located near Anaimalai, has a total storage capacity of 120 feet. As of July 21, the water level in the reservoir stands at 56.4 feet, with an inflow of 288 cubic feet per second. The dam is currently releasing 350 cubic feet of water per second to manage the increased storage.
The Parambikulam Dam, situated near Pollachi, has a maximum capacity of 72 feet. Due to the persistent southwest monsoon rainfall in the catchment areas, the water level has risen to 20.38 feet as of July 21. The dam is receiving a substantial inflow of 1,236 cubic feet per second, while releasing 910 cubic feet per second.
Meanwhile, the Sholayar Dam in Valparai, which has a storage capacity of 160 feet, has recorded a water level of 86.76 feet as of July 21. The reservoir is experiencing an inflow of 416 cubic feet per second from the catchment areas due to monsoon rainfall. Water discharge from the dam stands at 1,357 cubic feet per second, officials from the Water Resources Department reported.
