Awaiting Class XII Results? ICAI Coimbatore Recommends Chartered Accountancy as a Career with Lasting Demand

ICAI Coimbatore has urged students and parents to explore Chartered Accountancy as a future-ready profession offering strong career prospects, global opportunities and diverse roles beyond traditional finance and auditing.

Coimbatore: With the Class XII public examination results expected shortly, the Coimbatore Branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has urged students and parents to consider Chartered Accountancy as a promising and future-ready professional career.

With the rapid growth of Artificial Intelligence raising concerns over declining job opportunities in several sectors, many students and parents are increasingly looking for careers that are less likely to be affected by AI disruption. In this changing landscape, Chartered Accountancy continues to be seen as a stable and promising profession with long-term career opportunities across industries.

Addressing the media, Survajith S Krishnan, Chairman of the ICAI Coimbatore Branch, said the CA profession today offers opportunities not only in accounting and auditing, but also in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Global Taxation, Financial Consulting, Insolvency, Sustainability Reporting and Start-up Advisory services.

He said Chartered Accountants today play key roles as business advisors, entrepreneurs, strategists and decision-makers across industries. Students completing Class XII can directly pursue the CA course and build globally respected careers in areas including practice, banking, consulting, industry and entrepreneurship, he added.

He further noted that the CA course helps students develop analytical thinking, leadership qualities, communication skills, discipline and professional ethics.

Highlighting growing interest among students towards the profession, he said the Coimbatore CA fraternity has been actively supporting students through orientation programmes, counselling initiatives and professional development activities.

The branch has also been organising seminars, certificate courses and knowledge-sharing sessions on emerging areas such as the New Income Tax Act, 2025, Artificial Intelligence, GST and Corporate Laws.

Survajith S Krishnan further announced that the ICAI Convocation 2026 will be held across 21 centres nationwide, and Coimbatore has been selected as one of the centres to host the convocation on May 23, 2026.

Calling it a proud moment for the city’s CA fraternity, he said the selection reflects the growth and contribution of Coimbatore’s members and students to the profession.

He added that the ICAI Coimbatore Branch will continue its outreach programmes in schools and colleges across Coimbatore and nearby districts to create awareness about career opportunities in Chartered Accountancy.
