Karpagam Institute Celebrates 17th Annual Sports Day with Great Enthusiasm

The event featured athletic competitions, medal ceremonies, and emphasized the importance of sports in student development.


Coimbatore: Karpagam Institute of Technology organized its 17th Annual Sports Day on March 28, 2026, at its campus with remarkable enthusiasm and grandeur. Students, professors, and special guests participated actively in the event, transforming it into an exciting and memorable occasion.






The program commenced with a warm welcome to the chief guest, followed by flag hoisting and lamp lighting ceremonies, symbolizing unity and sportsmanship. Dr. B. Manimaran, Principal of the institution, delivered an address emphasizing the significance of sports and physical fitness in students' lives. He highlighted that sports are essential for developing discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills among young minds.






During the event, all students gathered with their flags and took the sports oath, pledging to uphold honesty and fairness in all competitions. Following this, the Principal officially inaugurated the Sports Day, marking the beginning of various athletic events.




Multiple track and field competitions were conducted, showcasing students' talent, determination, and competitive spirit. Winners were honored during the prize distribution ceremony held at 9:30 AM, where medals and certificates were presented to recognize their achievements.




National handball player M. Muhammed Wajith graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. M. Selvapandian, Director of Physical Education, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the successful organization of the event. The program concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of unity, pride, and cherished memories.
