Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation School Wins Ramalingam Chettiar Memorial District Cricket Tournament

Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School emerged champions at the Ramalingam Chettiar Memorial District-Level Cricket Tournament held in Coimbatore. The team defeated Ramalingam Chettiar H.S.S by 97 runs in the finals, scoring 127 runs for one wicket in 10 overs. Individual awards were presented to outstanding performers during the prize distribution ceremony.


Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School has emerged as the champions of the Ramalingam Chettiar Memorial District-Level Cricket Tournament, showcasing exceptional talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. The victory marks a significant achievement for the school in the sporting arena.

The much-anticipated finals were held at Sri Ramalinga Chettiar Memorial Higher Secondary School, where Sri Ramakrishna M.H.S.S faced Ramalingam Chettiar H.S.S in a thrilling encounter. After winning the toss, Sri Ramakrishna M.H.S.S elected to bat first and delivered an outstanding performance, scoring an impressive 127 runs for the loss of just one wicket in their allotted 10 overs.

In response, Ramalingam Chettiar H.S.S struggled to build momentum against a disciplined bowling attack and managed to score only 34 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 10 overs. Sri Ramakrishna M.H.S.S secured a commanding victory by 97 runs, demonstrating their dominance in both batting and bowling departments.

The tournament highlighted individual excellence among the players of Sri Ramakrishna School. P. Minerva of Class 8 was awarded the Best Bowler for her outstanding performance, while J. Tejeswini of Class 9 received the Best Batsman award for her impressive batting skills. R.S. Vaishnavi of Class 10 was honored as the Best All-Rounder, recognizing her exceptional contribution with both bat and ball.

The prize distribution ceremony for the tournament was held on 27 March 2026 at Sri Ramalinga Chettiar School. The event celebrated the achievements of the winning team and acknowledged the efforts of all participating schools, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition among students.
