Southern Railway announces temporary route change for Coimbatore-Nagercoil train due to engineering maintenance work at Dindigul railway yard from October 10. The train will run on an alternate route for passenger safety.


Coimbatore: The Southern Railway administration has announced a sudden change in the train route from Coimbatore Palayam railway station to Nagercoil. This alteration is due to engineering maintenance work being carried out at the Dindigul railway yard.

According to the recent statement released by Southern Railway, the Coimbatore-Nagercoil train (No. 16321) will operate on an alternate route starting from October 10. The new route will see the train passing through Virudhunagar, Karur, Manamadurai, Karaikudi, Pudukkottai, and Trichy.

This temporary change will be in effect on October 8 and 10. Southern Railway has emphasized that this route modification is temporary and has been implemented to ensure the safety of passengers.

The decision to alter the route highlights the railway administration's commitment to maintaining infrastructure while minimizing disruptions to passenger services. Travelers planning to use this route on the specified dates are advised to take note of the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.
