Light Showers in Various Parts of Coimbatore

Coimbatore experiences light showers on October 8, following two days of heavy rainfall. The Meteorological Department forecasts continued rainfall in districts along the Western Ghats.

Coimbatore: Light showers were reported in various parts of Coimbatore city on Sunday, October 8, following two days of heavy rainfall in the region. This comes as the Meteorological Department forecasts continued rainfall in districts along the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu.

The weather department has specifically mentioned that districts including Coimbatore, Nilgiris, and Tiruppur are likely to receive heavy rainfall. In line with this prediction, Coimbatore has been experiencing significant precipitation over the past two days.

On Saturday, both Coimbatore city and its suburban areas witnessed widespread moderate to heavy rainfall. The downpour caused waterlogging on many roads, leading to difficulties for motorists navigating through the city.

Today, light showers have been reported in several areas of Coimbatore city. Residents in localities such as Ukkadam, Railway Station area, Gandhipuram, and Sungam were seen using umbrellas as they went about their day amidst the drizzle.

The recent rainfall has brought some relief to the residents from the prevailing heat. However, it has also raised concerns about potential water stagnation and related issues if the precipitation continues. Local authorities are expected to be on alert to address any rain-related problems that may arise in the coming days.
