Free Eye Check-up Camp Held in Thudiyalur on Gandhi Jayanthi

A massive free eye check-up and treatment camp was organized in Thudiyalur, Coimbatore on Gandhi Jayanthi under the National Blindness Prevention Program. The event was inaugurated by Kavundampalayam MLA PRG Arunkumar.


Coimbatore: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, a massive free eye check-up and treatment camp was organized in Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, under the National Blindness Prevention Program. The event was a collaborative effort by the Coimbatore District Blindness Prevention Association, Women and Rural Development Foundation, and The Eye Foundation Hospital.

The camp was inaugurated by PRG Arunkumar, AIADMK Coimbatore Suburban North District Secretary and Kavundampalayam constituency MLA. V.R. Murugesan, founder of the foundation, presided over the event and welcomed all participants.



Doctors Alisa and Jeganathan from The Eye Foundation, along with nurses, conducted examinations for the attendees. The event saw the presence of several AIADMK party functionaries, including Ashokapuram Deputy Leader Shanmugasundaram, Perianaickenpalayam East Trade Wing Secretary A.D. Selvakumar, and AIADMK Thudiyalur Area Secretary Vanithamani, among others.

The camp was organized with the support of foundation members Rajan, Selvi Banupriya, Tamilarasi, Parthasarathy, Venkatesh, Arunkumar, and Sudhakar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the foundation's secretary, Kannadasan.

This initiative aimed to provide essential eye care services to the local community, aligning with the goals of the National Blindness Prevention Program and commemorating Gandhi Jayanthi in a meaningful way.
