Power Outage Announced for Peelamedu and Kurunellipalayam Substations in Coimbatore Tomorrow

Scheduled maintenance at Peelamedu and Kurunellipalayam substations in Coimbatore will result in power cuts on September 23 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Several areas will be affected by this temporary outage.


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has announced a power outage in several areas of Coimbatore on September 23, 2023, due to scheduled monthly maintenance work at the Peelamedu and Kurunellipalayam substations. The power cut will be in effect from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Areas affected by the Peelamedu substation maintenance include Bharathi Colony, Ilango Nagar, Purani Colony, Shoba Nagar, Ganapathy Industrial Estate, Police Quarters, Krishnarajapuram, Athipalayam Pirivu, Ramakrishnapuram, Avarampalayam, Ganesh Nagar, V.G. Rao Nagar, PSG Estate, PSG Hospital, Nehru Street, Anna Nagar, Arumugam Layout, Indira Nagar, Nava India, Gopal Nagar, Peelamedu Pudur, Ellai Thottam, V.O.C. Colony, P.K.T. Nagar, Akhilandeswari Nagar, Puliakulam, Amman Kulam, Bharathipuram, Pankaja Mill, Thamu Nagar, Balasubramania Nagar, Balaguru Garden, Sauriapalayam, Krishna Colony, Rajaji Nagar, Meena Estate, Udayampalayam, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Parsn Apartments, Sripathi Nagar, Kallimadai, Ramanathapuram, a portion of Trichy Road, Nanjundapuram Road, and Thiruvalluvar Nagar.

The areas affected by the Kurunellipalayam substation maintenance include Nallattipalayam, Mettupavi, Panappatti area, and Kothavadi.

Residents and businesses in these areas are advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions during the power outage period. The TNEB has stated that the maintenance work is essential to ensure the reliability and efficiency of the power distribution network in the city.
