Coimbatore's Perumal temples celebrated the first Saturday of Purattasi with special pujas, abhishekams, and decorations. Devotees thronged temples for darshan on this auspicious day.

Coimbatore: Various Perumal temples in Coimbatore conducted special pujas, abhishekams, and decorations on Saturday (Sept. 21) to mark the first Saturday of the Tamil month of Purattasi. This day holds significant importance for devotees of Lord Vishnu.

At the Sri Adhimurthi Perumal Temple in Palaya Puthur, Perianaickenpalayam, the deity was adorned with special decorations befitting the occasion. Similarly, the Ranganathar Temple in Karamadai saw Lord Perumal decorated elaborately for this auspicious day.

Devotees turned out in large numbers to offer prayers and seek blessings at these temples. The first Saturday of Purattasi is considered particularly sacred, and many devotees observe fasts and special rituals on this day.

The temple administrations had made necessary arrangements to manage the influx of devotees while ensuring COVID-19 safety protocols were followed. The air was filled with devotional fervor as bhajans and religious hymns were sung throughout the day.

This celebration not only marks an important day in the religious calendar but also serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage and traditions that continue to thrive in Coimbatore.
