AC Mechanic Falls to Death from 4th Floor in Coimbatore's Siddhapudur

A 49-year-old AC mechanic tragically died after falling from the fourth floor of a building in Siddhapudur, Coimbatore, while repairing an air conditioner with his son on September 15.


Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a 49-year-old AC mechanic lost his life after falling from the fourth floor of a building in Siddhapudur, Coimbatore. The deceased, identified as Arumugam from Vadavalli, was working on an air conditioning unit with his son when the accident occurred on September 15.

Arumugam and his son were engaged in repairing an air conditioner on the fourth floor of the building when he unexpectedly lost his balance and fell. The impact of the fall was so severe that Arumugam succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Kattoor police quickly arrived at the scene. They recovered Arumugam's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Following a complaint, the Kattoor police have registered a case against the building owner, Palanisamy (50), for failing to provide adequate safety measures for workers on the premises. The police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.

This unfortunate event highlights the importance of implementing proper safety protocols, especially for workers engaged in high-risk activities such as repairing equipment at elevated heights.
