351 Vinayagar Idols Immersed in Coimbatore; H. Raja Criticizes Anti-Hindu Forces

351 Vinayagar idols were immersed in Coimbatore's Vellakinar area. BJP leader H. Raja, speaking at a gathering, criticized alleged anti-Hindu forces within the police department and the state government's actions.

Coimbatore: In a significant event, 351 Vinayagar idols placed by Hindu organizations in the Thudiyalur area of Coimbatore were immersed in a temporary pond set up in the Vellakinar region. The immersion followed a public meeting where senior BJP leader H. Raja addressed the gathering.

During his speech, H. Raja expressed concerns about the increasing religious faith in Tamil Nadu despite what he perceived as obstacles. He criticized the current administration for what he deemed as excessive action against individuals for their speech in educational institutions. Raja stated, "It sets a wrong precedent to send more than 20 police officers to the airport to arrest someone for what they said in a school."

The BJP leader pointed out the government's inaction against a minister and others who allegedly spoke inappropriately about the Prime Minister. He also claimed that Periyar had provided misguided leadership in Tamil Nadu. Raja raised concerns about a high-ranking police official allegedly emphasizing the importance of Christians in the force, saying, "It seems anti-Hindu forces have infiltrated the police department."

Raja criticized the delay in granting permission for the placement of over 350 Vinayagar idols in the area, calling it illegal. He also mentioned an incident in Trichy where a person from another religion was allegedly involved in a rape case, accusing a minister of not taking appropriate action.

Concluding his speech, Raja emphasized that devotion is universal and called for everyone to follow Hindu cultural values and moral principles, which he claimed were abundant in Hinduism.

The event, organized by the Hindu Munnani, included a procession and public meeting in Thudiyalur, Coimbatore. Uruvai Balan presided over the meeting, with Nandakumar, Thiyagarajan, Jaikarthik, and Muruganantham in attendance.
