Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam Seeks Permission for Flag Poles in Tiruppur

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam officials petition Tiruppur City Police Commissioner for permission to erect flag poles, alleging bureaucratic hurdles from municipal and police authorities.

Coimbatore: Officials of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) have submitted a petition to the Tiruppur City Police Commissioner, seeking permission to erect flag poles for their party in various parts of Tiruppur. The party representatives claim they are being given the runaround by both municipal and police authorities when attempting to obtain the necessary permissions.

Recently, TVK leader Vijay introduced the party flag and requested supporters to hoist it after obtaining proper permissions. However, party officials allege that they are facing obstacles in Tiruppur when trying to set up flag poles and raise their party flag.

According to the TVK representatives, when they approach the police for permission, they are directed to the municipal administration. Conversely, when they contact the municipal authorities, they are sent back to the police department. Frustrated with this bureaucratic loop, the party officials decided to directly petition higher authorities.

As a first step, the TVK members have submitted their petition to the Tiruppur City Police Commissioner. They plan to approach the District Collector next with their request for permission to erect flag poles and hoist their party flag in Tiruppur.
