School Management Committee Restructured at Coimbatore Corporation Higher Secondary School

The School Management Committee of Coimbatore Corporation Higher Secondary School in Peelamedu was restructured for 2024. The meeting, held under the leadership of Headmaster Thomas Xavier, saw the election of new members and the establishment of key objectives.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation Higher Secondary School in Peelamedu, Ward 26, conducted its School Management Committee (SMC) restructuring meeting for the year 2024. The event, which took place on Travellers Mill Road, was presided over by the school's Headmaster, Mr. Thomas Xavier.

The meeting saw the participation of local representatives, including Ward 26 Councillor Chitra Velliangiri and Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Dhanapal. Mrs. Priya was elected as the Chairperson of the School Management Committee, along with 24 other members.



The newly formed committee emphasized the motto "Our School, Our Pride" and resolved to conduct monthly SMC meetings effectively. They set several objectives, including surpassing private schools in terms of student performance, achieving 100% pass rates for students, and encouraging participation in sports.

The committee also decided to involve all parents in the monthly SMC meetings, ensuring continuous monitoring of their children's progress. They aim to develop general knowledge skills among students and implement various other resolutions to enhance the overall educational experience.



The meeting was attended by over 100 parents, all teaching staff, and municipal officials. The gathering discussed strategies to make the school a center of excellence in education and holistic development of students.

The restructuring of the School Management Committee is seen as a significant step towards improving the quality of education in government schools and bridging the gap with private institutions. The active involvement of parents and local representatives is expected to bring about positive changes in the school's administration and student performance.



The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together for the betterment of the school and its students, setting a promising precedent for other government schools in the region.
