'No party can do politics without discussing spirituality in Tamil Nadu,' says BJP senior leader Tamilisai Soundararajan in Coimbatore

Former Governor and BJP senior leader Tamilisai Soundararajan visited Coimbatore, addressing various topics including BJP membership drive, Muthamizh Murugan conference, and criticism of the state government's handling of social justice issues.

Coimbatore: Former Governor and BJP senior leader Tamilisai Soundararajan arrived at Coimbatore airport to participate in various events and met with reporters. During the interaction, she discussed several key issues, including the BJP's membership drive, recent political developments, and criticisms of the state government.

Soundararajan announced that the BJP has begun its membership drive, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to join as a new member on September 1. She stated, "We are taking steps to make BJP the largest party globally and to double our membership in Tamil Nadu."

Addressing the Muthamizh Murugan conference, Soundararajan asserted, "No party in Tamil Nadu can do politics without discussing spirituality anymore. The Chief Minister should have inaugurated the Muthamizh Murugan conference."

Commenting on actor Vijay's newly launched Tamil Nadu Triumph Association, she said, "There's a debate about which flower is on their flag. It's not a lotus, so we don't have any issue. However, the Bahujan Samaj Party has expressed a different opinion due to the presence of an elephant symbol. Vijay has started his event with criticism."

Soundararajan refuted claims that BJP's strength in Tamil Nadu is solely due to alliance partners. She emphasized, "We cannot accept that BJP MLAs in Tamil Nadu are elected only because of alliance strength. We have proven our strength not just in words but in action by securing 11% votes independently and 18% votes in alliance."

The BJP leader also criticized the state government's handling of various issues. She called for ensuring the safety of female students in private and government schools across Tamil Nadu, particularly referencing the recent incident in Krishnagiri. Soundararajan demanded protection for medical students throughout Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore.

She concluded by highlighting the government's failures, stating, "This government has increased textbook prices. The Vengaivayal issue remains unresolved. All these indicate that this government has failed in social justice."
