Ministers Inaugurate Cooperative Management Training Center and Distribute Two-Wheelers to Fishermen in Tirupur

Ministers M.P. Saminathan and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj inaugurated a Cooperative Management Training Center in Dharapuram and distributed two-wheelers with cold storage boxes to 19 fishermen, worth Rs. 6.30 lakhs, in Tirupur district.



Tirupur: Ministers M.P. Saminathan and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj inaugurated the Tirupur District Cooperative Management Training Center at the Dharapuram Agricultural Producers Cooperative Sales Society complex in Chinnakadai Street, Dharapuram Municipality, Tiruppur district.

The center, an initiative of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Union, aims to provide training to youth in various aspects of cooperative societies, including operations, procedures, cooperative laws, rules, duties, and responsibilities. This move is expected to create employment opportunities for educated youth and young women in the district.



Following the inauguration, the ministers distributed two-wheelers equipped with cold storage boxes to 19 fishermen and fisherwomen under the Prime Minister's Fisheries Development Scheme.



The distribution included 15 beneficiaries from the general category receiving a 40% subsidy of Rs. 30,000 each, totaling Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Additionally, two fisherwomen and two beneficiaries from the Scheduled Tribe category received subsidies of 40% and 60% respectively, amounting to Rs. 45,000 each, for a total of Rs. 1.80 lakhs.

The event was attended by various officials and dignitaries, including S. Srinivasan, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, L. Padmanaban, Chairman of Zone 4 of Tiruppur Corporation, Pappukannan, Chairman of Dharapuram Town Council, S.V. Senthilkumar, Chairman of Dharapuram Panchayat Union Committee, and several other local leaders and government officials.

This initiative is part of the Tamil Nadu government's efforts to promote the progress of the state's people, particularly in the cooperative sector. The Cooperative Management Training Center in Dharapuram is expected to benefit the local community by providing opportunities for skill development and employment in cooperative institutions.
