Coimbatore: In a novel celebration of India's 78th Independence Day, students and faculty of KPR Engineering and Technology College in Karumathampatti, Coimbatore, captivated onlookers with their technologically advanced display featuring 3D printed AI robots and drones.

The collaborative effort of students and professors resulted in a distinctive Independence Day celebration that merged patriotism with cutting-edge technology. A 3D printed AI robot held the national flag and extended greetings, while a student-designed drone carried the tricolor across the sky, symbolizing the nation's progress and technological prowess.

The event commenced with a parade by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and the introduction of a monthly scholarship program to encourage research. Commodore Balasundaram, an Indian Navy officer who attended as the chief guest, hoisted the national flag. In his address, he emphasized India's journey towards becoming a developed and self-reliant nation by 2047.

"We are on the path to becoming a developed and self-sufficient country by 2047," Commodore Balasundaram stated. He encouraged the younger generation to effectively utilize the opportunities, support, and facilities available to them in areas such as startups, research, sports, and technological advancements. The naval officer also motivated students to take on the responsibility of leading the nation with a strong vision for the future.

The celebration continued with an NCC parade representing the three armed forces, followed by a display of silambattam (a traditional martial art) by students, and drone demonstrations, showcasing a blend of cultural heritage and modern technology in the Independence Day festivities.
