DMK's 27th Ward Unit Pays Floral Tribute to Former CM Kalaignar on 6th Death Anniversary in Coimbatore

DMK's 27th ward unit in Coimbatore commemorated the 6th death anniversary of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi by offering floral tributes to his portrait on August 7th.


Coimbatore: The DMK's 27th ward unit in Coimbatore paid homage to former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, fondly known as Kalaignar, on his 6th death anniversary. Party members gathered to offer floral tributes to the portrait of the late leader, who was hailed as a scholar of Tamil and a pioneer of classical Tamil.

The event, held on August 7th, saw the participation of several key DMK functionaries and party workers. Durai Senthamilselvan, DMK Secretary of Peelamedu Area 1, and A. Senthilkumar, Deputy Secretary of the 27th Ward Unit, led the proceedings.



Notable attendees included R. Danapal, Coimbatore Urban District Youth Wing Organizer, Ambika Danapal, Corporation Councilor, and Lokeswari, Deputy Organizer of Coimbatore Urban District Women's Wing. Ward unit representatives Velusamy, Poovai Suresh, Ramesh Kumar, and Boopathi were also present.

Other participants included Pushpavathi, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Unit, Angamuthu, Ward Unit Treasurer, and senior party pioneers like Rangaraj, Mill Ravi, Anbazhagan, Krishnamurthy, Mathivanan, Purushothaman, Govindaraj, Nellai Kumar, and Thesingurajan.

The event also saw the presence of Mohamed Ansari, In-charge of the IT Wing for Singanallur Constituency, along with Women's Wing members Thilagavathi, Vijaya, and Vijayakumari.

The gathering paid their respects to Kalaignar Karunanidhi, remembering his contributions to Tamil literature, politics, and the state of Tamil Nadu.
