Coimbatore-Singapore Flight Service to Commence from October

IndiGo to launch daily flights between Coimbatore and Singapore from October, following the recent announcement of Coimbatore-Abu Dhabi service starting August 10.

Coimbatore: In a significant boost to international connectivity from Coimbatore, IndiGo Airlines is set to launch daily flight services between Coimbatore and Singapore starting from October. This news comes on the heels of the recent announcement of Coimbatore-Abu Dhabi flights by IndiGo, scheduled to begin on August 10.

According to airport officials, Scoot Airlines will operate the Coimbatore-Singapore route. The flight will depart from Singapore at 10 PM, arrive in Coimbatore, and then take off for Singapore at 10:45 PM daily. While official confirmation from IndiGo is awaited, sources indicate that the airline has received permission to operate on this route from October.

The introduction of the Singapore route, along with the upcoming Abu Dhabi service, will increase the number of international destinations served from Coimbatore to four. This expansion is expected to significantly enhance the city's global connectivity and boost tourism and business opportunities.

The demand for the Coimbatore-Abu Dhabi route has been notably high, with tickets selling rapidly. However, there are concerns about the potential lack of interest from passengers traveling from Abu Dhabi to Coimbatore.

Recently, Minister TRB Rajaa met with the Union Minister for Civil Aviation to request the establishment of a Coimbatore-Singapore flight service. The swift fulfillment of this request has been met with enthusiasm by the residents of Coimbatore district.

These developments mark a significant milestone in Coimbatore's aviation sector, promising improved international connectivity and economic prospects for the region.
