Coimbatore: In a move to enhance public service infrastructure, Pollachi MLA Dr. V. Jayaraman initiated the expansion of a ration shop in Ward 19 of Pollachi town on July 29. The project, funded with Rs. 3.50 lakhs from the MLA's constituency development fund, aims to improve the facilities at the fair price shop located on Jubilee Well Street.

Dr. V. Jayaraman, who serves as the former minister, current MLA of Pollachi, DMK's election division secretary, and Tirupur urban district secretary, personally laid the foundation stone for the expansion work. The ceremony marked a significant step towards better service delivery for the residents of the area.

The expansion project is expected to modernize the existing ration shop, potentially accommodating more customers and streamlining the distribution process. This initiative aligns with the government's efforts to enhance the public distribution system and ensure easier access to essential commodities for the local population.
