Residents Demand Swift Completion of Underground Drainage Work at Ramani's Mayuri in Coimbatore

Residents of Ramani's Mayuri in Coimbatore urge authorities to expedite the two-month-long underground drainage work, citing safety concerns due to waterlogged trenches after heavy rainfall on July 24.

Coimbatore: Residents of Ramani's Mayuri, located on Saravanampatti Road in Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, have raised concerns over the ongoing underground drainage work that has been in progress for the past two months. The unfinished project has led to numerous issues, prompting locals to demand swift completion.

The underground drainage pipes have been laid, but the trenches remain improperly filled. Following heavy rainfall on July 24, these partially covered trenches have become waterlogged, causing significant inconvenience to motorists navigating the area.

The situation has raised alarm among residents, particularly regarding the safety of schoolchildren and pedestrians. There are fears that walking through the stagnant water could lead to potential health hazards and increase the risk of waterborne diseases.

In response to these concerns, the residents of Ramani's Mayuri have officially appealed to the relevant authorities on July 25, urging them to take immediate action. They have emphasized the need for proper completion of the drainage work and adequate filling of the trenches to ensure public safety and convenience.

The residents hope that their plea will be heard and that swift measures will be taken to address the issue, thus mitigating the risks posed by the ongoing construction work and recent weather conditions.
