Suspicious Death of a Laborer Leads to Road Block Protest near Udumalai

The suspicious death of Murugan (38), a laborer from Udumalai near Tirupur, led to a major road block protest on Coimbatore-Dindigul highway, causing significant traffic disruptions for over an hour.

Tirupur: A laborer named Murugan, aged 38, reportedly died from electrocution while working in a coconut farm near Madathukulam, close to Udumalai in Tirupur District.

The farm owner reported that the incident occurred yesterday. Following his death, Murugan's body was placed at Udumalai Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Doubts about the nature of his death led over a hundred of his relatives and associates to stage a road block protest at the old bus station area in Udumalai on the Coimbatore-Dindigul highway. This led to a massive traffic jam along the Pollachi road, disrupting traffic for more than an hour. The protest temporarily subsided after police arrived at the scene and assured a thorough investigation into Murugan's death.
