Coimbatore Police Commissioner Inaugurates Automatic Yellow Bag Dispenser and Water Purification Machine

In Coimbatore, Police Commissioner Balakrishnan inaugurated an automatic yellow bag dispenser and a water purification machine at the city's PRS complex on Avinashi Road on June 29, aiming to reduce plastic bag usage.


Coimbatore: In an effort to minimize the use of plastic bags, the Coimbatore City Police, under the initiative of the Coimbatore Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, launched an automatic yellow bag dispenser. The inauguration ceremony took place at the PRS complex on Avinashi Road on June 29. During the event, police personnel and their families were able to purchase yellow bags by inserting a Rs. 10 coin into the machine.



In addition to the bag dispenser, Commissioner Balakrishnan also inaugurated a water purification machine located within the complex. This installation aims at providing clean drinking water to the public and police personnel alike.

The event was attended by numerous dignitaries including the Deputy Police Commissioner Saravanakumar, Assistant Commissioner of Armed Police Sekhar, and several police officers along with their families. This initiative highlights the department’s ongoing efforts to encourage environmentally sustainable practices.
