Coimbatore: A horrific incident unfolded today in the Subramaniyampalayam area in Coimbatore as a love story took a violent turn, resulting in the death of a man who was merely trying to meddle in his niece's romantic affairs. The victim, Manikandan, had confronted his niece's lover, Mithun, who subsequently attacked him during a heated argument.

Mithun, a 20-year-old local resident and recent diploma graduate from a Polytechnic College in the Saravanampatti area, was reportedly involved in a two-year romantic relationship with Harshini, who is also a student in the same institution. Harshini's family had opposed the relationship, which led to increased tensions.
