Coimbatore: The Karpagam Institute of Technology in Coimbatore celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm on June 21, 2024.

Students across various departments gathered early in the morning to engage in yoga exercises and meditation sessions, reflecting the day’s theme of enhancing mental clarity and physical health.

The day began at 6:30 AM in the campus courtyard with warm-up exercises, followed by a session on basic yoga postures guided by experienced instructors, including Kavinkumar and Kavin from the EEE department. Under their guidance, students practiced postures like the tree pose (Vrikshasana), which helped enhance their balance and concentration.

A significant gathering occurred in the amphitheater area of the campus, where students, in the calm of the early morning, participated in a group meditation session. The amphitheater's steps offered a unique and natural setting for the students to lay out their mats and perform yoga together, creating an atmosphere of calm and unity.

The global celebration of International Yoga Day aims to highlight the benefits of yoga for holistic health. At Karpagam Institute of Technology, the event demonstrated the universal appeal and inclusive nature of yoga, with students from different faculties participating actively. The day's activities fostered a sense of community and well-being among the students, promoting a healthier and more balanced lifestyle through the practice of yoga, true to the spirit of the day.
