Action Sought Against Schools Forcibly Discharging Students with Low Grades

In Coimbatore, Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam coordinator Eswaran submitted a petition to the District Collector, demanding action against schools that forcibly discharge students with low Grades.

Coimbatore: Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam coordinator Eswaran filed a petition at the Coimbatore District Collector's office on June 18th, urging Tamil Nadu government to act against schools that allegedly force out students who achieve low academic scores.

The petition claims that certain schools are issuing transfer certificates to underperforming students to maintain a false impression of high academic success. "This unfairly penalizes students instead of providing them requisite support," said Eswaran during a press meet.

Eswaran highlighted this issue as particularly prevalent in both government and private schools across Tamil Nadu, describing the practice as a manipulative tactic to falsely boost school performance statistics at the expense of student welfare. He strongly condemned these actions and demanded immediate reinstatement of the affected students into their respective schools.

Furthermore, Eswaran criticized the lack of action from educational authorities and has threatened to escalate the issue through stronger protests via Marumalarchi Makkal Iyakkam if necessary measures are not taken. He questioned the ethics behind expelling students to achieve 100% pass rates and pointed out the need for governmental intervention to ensure fair educational practices. No response from the Tamil Nadu School Education Department has been reported yet on this matter.
