Man Arrested for Selling Interstate Liquor in Palladam

In Palladam, Tirupur district, a man was detained for storing and selling illegal interstate liquor. The arrest followed a tip-off about illegal sales in Avinashipalayam.


Tirupur: In a crackdown on illegal liquor sales, the police in Palladam, near Avinashipalayam, Tirupur district, arrested a man for selling interstate liquor without appropriate licenses.

Acting on confidential information, Avinashipalayam police conducted raids on several shops in the area. Upon inspection, they found that Rajkumar, 39, from Thoothukudi district, had stashed interstate liquor in his grocery store for sale.



Further investigation led to the discovery of 54 bottles of liquor from Karnataka hidden away for commercial purposes.



Rajkumar was arrested and has been remanded to custody, facing charges related to the illicit trade of alcoholic beverages.
