Man Remanded for Dumping Meat Wastes Near Koniamman Temple Car in Coimbatore.

Mohammed Ayaz (41) who was booked under sections 153 A, 290, and 504 for dumping meat waste near Koniamman temple Car in Raja Street was remanded in judicial custody and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison, on Thursday.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police initiated the arrest and remanded a 41-year-old man, Mohammed Ayaz, for dumping meat waste near the Koniamman temple car located on Raja Street.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that he was working at a mutton and chicken stall owned by his elder brother in the Gandhi Park area.

On the night of June 1, Mohammed Ayaz collected the chicken and mutton waste in a carry bag and dumped the waste near the temple car located on Raja Street. 

The police, who came to know about the incident the next day, took steps to clear the meat waste with the help of the corporation's sanitary workers. 

Meanwhile, members of various right-wing outfits condemned the incident, took videos of the cleaning work, and posted them on social media. They also demanded the police take stringent action against the person who had dumped the meat waste near the temple car.



Following a complaint, the police registered a case against Mohammed Ayaz under sections 153 A, 290, and 504 of the Indian Penal Code on Wednesday. He was remanded in judicial custody and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison on Thursday.
