Copra Auction Generates Rs. 28.285 Lakhs at Anaimalai Regulated Market

Copra auction at Anaimalai Regulated Market on Thursday garnered Rs. 28.285 lakhs from the sale of 708 sacks by 102 farmers. Highest sale recorded for first-grade copra at Rs. 9,206 per quintal.


Coimbatore: In an event that takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, the Anaimalai Regulated Market witnessed its regular copra auction this Thursday. The market saw active participation from 102 local farmers who brought in a total of 708 sacks of copra.

During this auction, first-grade copra was sold at a maximum price of Rs. 9,206 per quintal, contributing to a significant share of the revenue. The second-grade copra also fetched a considerable amount, with the highest price at Rs. 8,116 per quintal. Altogether, the total copra sold amounted to 332.76 quintals, bringing in a substantial Rs. 28.285 lakhs. These events are crucial for the local agricultural economy and provide an essential source of income for the participating farmers.
