Copra Auction Cancelled at Anaimalai Sales Facility Due to Election Counting

The copra auction scheduled for June 4 at the Anaimalai Sales Facility has been cancelled due to the Lok Sabha election counting. It will resume on June 6.

Coimbatore: The regular copra auction at the Anaimalai Sales Facility will not take place on June 4 owing to the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections, according to Senthil Murugan, the supervisor of the Anaimalai Regulatory Sales Unit.

He stated that this temporary cancellation is due to the logistical and administrative focus required for the election process. However, the auction is set to resume this coming Thursday, June 6, where farmers can bring their coconut copra for sale and benefit from the event. This interruption is seen as a necessary adjustment to accommodate the significant national event.
