Rapid Cleanup Operations at Noyyal River Canal Underway, Supervised by Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Siva Prabakaran IAS inspects and accelerates cleanup operations of canal stretching from Palakkad Main Road to Puttuvikki Road covering 2.2 kilometers in the South Zone of the city.


Coimbatore: On May 30, 2024, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Siva Prabhakaran IAS conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing cleanup efforts along the canal that transports water from Kurichi Lake to Noyyal River. This canal, approximately 2.2 kilometers in length, stretches from Palakkad Main Road to Puttuvikki Road.



The commissioner directed the involved officials to expedite the cleanup operations to ensure timely completion.



Accompanied by the city's Chief Engineer Anbalagan, Assistant Commissioner (Engineering) Elangovan, Assistant Executive Engineer Kanagaraj, and Zonal Health Officer Aandiyappan, the inspection aimed to assess the progress and effectiveness of the cleanup procedures. The team is focused on clearing any obstructions and maintaining the smooth flow of the canal, which is crucial for water management and environmental health in the area.

This initiative is part of the municipal authority's efforts to enhance infrastructure and public utilities, reflecting a continued commitment to environmental sustainability and effective city management.
