Three Deer Found Dead at Bharathiar University Campus in Coimbatore

Three deer were found dead with injuries at Bharathiar University campus, Coimbatore, likely due to dog attacks, according to forest officials.


Coimbatore: In a distressing incident at Bharathiar University campus under the Thadagam forest range, three deer were reportedly attacked and killed by dogs. The discovery was made on May 15, prompting an immediate investigation by forest officials.

Upon inspection, the dead deer were found scattered across the basketball court with visible minor injuries and bloodstains.

Forest officials found paw prints at the scene, suggesting the presence of dogs.



Following the protocol, the deceased deer were transported to Vadavalli Veterinary Hospital for autopsy as advised by the district forest officer. The incident site is located about 600 meters from the forest area, and the forest department confirmed the details on May 16.
