Current Status of Dams in Pollachi, Coimbatore District as of May 12, 2024

On May 12, 2024, Pollachi's dams in Coimbatore District recorded varying water levels, discharges, and rainfall. Solaiyar, Parambikulam, and Aliyar dams are key highlights.


Coimbatore: The dams in the Pollachi region of Coimbatore District have reported the latest water level status as of May 12, 2024. Solaiyar Dam presents a water level at 4.94 meters out of its total capacity of 160 meters, with both inflow and outflow registered at 20 cubic meters per second. It also recorded a rainfall measurement of 2mm.




Parambikulam Dam showed a water level of 10.11 meters against a full capacity of 72 meters. The inflow was marked at 35 cubic meters per second with an outflow of 17 cubic meters per second, accompanying a rainfall of 4mm.




Aliyar Dam reported a substantial inflow of 295 cubic meters per second, with the water level reaching 67.50 meters out of a total 120 meters. The dam’s outflow was estimated at 52 cubic meters per second, with a rainfall of 24mm observed.




Additional rainfall in various parts of the region includes Walparai receiving 33mm, Upper Neeraar 9mm, Lower Neeraar 5mm, Kadambur 16mm, Manakkadavu 18mm, and Thoonakkadavu 12mm. Pollachi topped the chart with 56mm while Nallar experienced significant rainfall at 43mm.
