Worker Dies After Falling from Cell Tower in RS Puram, Coimbatore; Contractor Charged

In Coimbatore, a 32-year-old cell tower maintenance worker fell and died due to lack of safety equipment. The incident occurred near RS Puram, leading to a case against the contractor.


Coimbatore: A tragic incident occurred near RS Puram, Coimbatore, where Karthik, a 32-year-old cell tower maintenance worker from Vasudevanallur in Tenkasi district, fell to his death. He had been residing in Coimbatore and working on the maintenance of cell towers. On May 2, while working on a cell tower at Sir C.V Road junction in RS Puram, Karthik unexpectedly lost his balance and fell from a height of 15 meters.


He sustained severe head injuries. Witnesses immediately called for an ambulance. Upon arrival, the paramedics examined Karthik but soon declared him deceased.
