Four Arrested for Selling Cow Dung as Ganja in Tirupur

In Tirupur, police arrested four individuals for allegedly selling a mixture of cow dung and hay as ganja. The arrests followed a vehicle inspection on Mangalam Road.


Tirupur: In a bizarre incident, the Tirupur police have arrested four individuals for allegedly selling cow dung and hay as ganja. The suspicions arose during a routine vehicle check by patrol officers on Mangalam Road, near Pazhakuton area, where two young men were stopped for inspection. Upon examining their two-wheeler, officers discovered a package resembling ganja.


Further investigation revealed that the suspects, identified as Loganathan (22), Uma Maheswaran (21), Sarathi (21), and Kavin (22), bought the substance for 33,000 rupees, mistaking it for ganja due to its weight. The police discovered the actual contents to be cow dung mixed with hay. The thorough scrutiny led to the seizure of one kilogram of what was initially thought to be ganja. All four suspects, including Sarathi and Kavin from KVR Nagar, were arrested and have been incarcerated.
