Special Prayer for Rain Conducted by Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam and Islamic Preaching Council in Coimbatore

In light of severe drought and escalating temperatures, the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam and Islamic Preaching Council held a special prayer session for rain in Coimbatore's Karumbukadai Saramedu area.

Coimbatore: Amidst the scorching heat and increasing drought conditions, the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam along with the Islamic Preaching Council organized a special prayer meeting in the Karumbukadai Saramedu area to seek divine intervention for rain. As the state suffers from an acute water shortage affecting both agriculture and daily life, public distress is palpable.

The groundwater levels continue to decrease alarmingly, leading to significant concerns over water availability for drinking and irrigation purposes. The reservoirs are also experiencing historically low inflows, adding to the acute challenges faced by local farmers and the general populace.

Maulvi Yunus Firdausi led the early morning prayers at 7 AM, attended by more than 500 members of the Muslim community. They collectively prayed for rainfall, essential for their crops and cattle. This religious congregation reflects the community's hope and dependence on divine help for relief from the harsh dry spell.

This gathering not only highlights the environmental crises but also the unity within the community to face adversity. The situation underscores the urgent need for more effective water management and sustainable practices in the region to combat the challenges of extreme weather conditions.
