Mettupalayam Assembly Constituent A.K.Selvaraj Successfully Negotiates with Jadayampalayam Village Protesters

Mettupalayam MLA A.K.Selvaraj discussed with Jadayampalayam village residents, leading them to withdraw their protest regarding inadequate water supply issues.

Coimbatore: In Mettupalayam, residents of Jadayampalayam village engaged in a protest road blockade concerning insufficient water supply.

Over 200 people, including women, disrupted traffic on April 29 with empty pots and pans.

The situation quickly drew the attention of the local police and the village head, R.K.Palani Swamy, who initiated discussions with the protestors. Calm was restored temporarily after successful negotiations.

Further discussions continued with government officials on April 30 due to the lack of a concrete solution, leading to a second day of road blockades. This has notably impacted local traffic. After continued discussions with MLA A.K. Selvaraj, the protestors finally decided to withdraw their demonstration, easing tensions in the area.
