Four individuals have been summoned to appear before the CBCID in Coimbatore today for an ongoing investigation into the 2017 murder-robbery case at Kodanad Estate.

Coimbatore: In a significant development in the Kodanad estate murder-robbery case, four individuals have been summoned for an inquiry before the Crime Branch CID (CBCID) in Coimbatore. The individuals, identified as Ramesh, a driver; Devan, who supplied vegetables to the estate while Jayalalithaa was alive; Ravikumar, a friend of an accused, and Abdul Khader, who works in vehicle number plate manufacturing in Coimbatore, are required to appear today.

This case pertains to the gruesome murder of a security guard and a simultaneous robbery that occurred at the Kodanad Estate on April 24, 2017. The sprawling property in the Nilgiris belonged to late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. The murder of the security guard, named Om Bahadur, and the theft of several important items from the bungalow drew extensive media attention.

Among the accused were Jayalalithaa's former driver Kanagaraj, who later died in a road accident, and Sayan, another key suspect who was critically injured in an accident while attempting to flee with his family. The subsequent deaths related to this case have led to widespread speculation and investigation.

Further investigations revealed that Ramesh, Devan, Ravikumar, and Abdul Khader were connected to the case, prompting summons by the CBCID. They were approached at the CBCID office at the Police Training School grounds in Coimbatore at 10:30 AM. The inquiry is being led by CBCID ADSP Murugavel.
