Surge in Pump Set Sales in Coimbatore Due to Summer Heat

Due to rising temperatures, Coimbatore sees an increase in pump set sales for agricultural and domestic use. Local industries contribute significantly to this demand nationally.

Coimbatore: As the summer heat intensifies in Coimbatore, there has been a noticeable increase in the sales of pump sets, critical for both agricultural and household applications. Coimbatore’s pump set manufacturers play a vital role globally in producing quality equipment. The demand for these pump sets typically rises during the hot months, with the industry indicating a peak season stretching from February to August.

Manufacturers note that local enterprises contribute over 50% to the national demand for pump sets, with production for this year commencing as early as the second week of January due to anticipated needs. The persistent development in the sector is evident, and a significant increase in agricultural pump set requirements has been observed due to the escalating temperatures. Similarly, the demand for residential pump sets has also surged.

Despite the presence of active manufacturers in regions like Gujarat, customers nationwide exhibit a higher preference for Coimbatore-made pump sets. Compared to last year, the demand for agricultural pump sets has risen by 15%, and residential pump sets by 10%. With temperatures expected to climb further in May, the demand is projected to increase even more, potentially extending the season to August or September.

The Coimbatore Pump Set and Parts Manufacturers Association has mentioned that while large corporations primarily procure these items for government sectors, small-scale enterprises focusing on home needed pump sets also see a stable demand. They have appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to support these smaller entities, anticipating positive action.
