Rs. 14,20,000 Seized in a Police Search at the Kerala-Tamil Nadu Border

Coimbatore, April 22: Kerala police conducted searches on buses traveling through Walayar, on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, seizing Rs. 14,20,000 from a passenger with no documentation.

Coimbatore: On April 22, in a significant inter-state operation, Kerala police seized Rs. 14,20,000 from a passenger traveling by bus through the Walayar area on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The bus was en route from Coimbatore to Thrissur when the police initiated their checks.

During the search, police noticed unusual modifications in the clothing of a passenger from Jeraki, near Ernakulam, identified as Vino. Closer inspection revealed hidden compartments within his attire, where the cash was concealed. Since Vino could not produce any documents justifying the possession of this large sum, the police registered a case against him and confiscated the money.

This incident has highlighted the ongoing efforts by police forces to clamp down on undeclared money transactions across state borders.
