Reduction in Flying Squad Personnel in Coimbatore Post Elections

Following the conclusion of voting in Coimbatore, the number of flying squads has been reduced from 90 to 10 to monitor post-election activities.

Coimbatore: In an effort to curtail electoral malpractices such as distribution of cash and gifts, Coimbatore had initially appointed 90 flying squads comprising police, revenue and several other officials. With the voting process now complete, authorities have significantly reduced the number of flying squads from 90 to just 10. The decision was implemented today, April 22.

These reduced squads will continue to operate at 11 inspection stations throughout the district, conducting vehicle checks until June 4, as per the directives from the election officials. Most officials who were previously part of the larger flying squads have now returned to their regular duties.
