Seven Injured in Head-On Collision Near Dharapuram

A head-on collision between a van and a car near Dharapuram on the Tirupur-Palani road resulted in injuries to seven people. Alangiyam police are investigating the incident.


Tirupur: In a severe road mishap, seven people were injured in a head-on collision between a van and a Hyundai car near Dharapuram in Kattampatti area, located on the road linking Tirupur to Palani.



The accident occurred when a van, returning from Palani Temple with seven devotees, was hit by the car driving from Erode towards Palani.



The injured, including employees from a hotel in Salem’s Konganapuram area, identified as Shiva (32), Surya (30), Meyyarasan (35), Raja (25), Karthi (32), and hotel workers Santosh (30) from Nepal, were rescued by locals and taken to Dharapuram Government Hospital. They received initial treatment there and were later transferred to Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital for further care.



Alangiyam police have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident.
