Udumalai Area Residents and Farmers Decide to Boycott Parliamentary Elections

Villagers and farmers in Virugalpatti, near Udumalai, Tirupur district, announced boycotting the upcoming Parliamentary elections citing inaction over malpractices in local cooperative bank and delays in providing crop loans.

Tirupur: In a significant political statement, residents and farmers from Virugalpatti village, close to Udumalai in the Tirupur district, have declared their intention to boycott the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. The decision follows allegations of malpractice at the local agricultural cooperative bank and complaints about delays in the distribution of crop loans.

The community expressed its discontent last week by hoisting black flags and displaying banners. This collective decision comes after no effective dialogues were initiated by authorities concerning their grievances. The villagers demand that properties involved in the bank's malpractices be seized and justice be promptly delivered to ensure fair treatment and support for the local farmers and public. The move to boycott the elections is a unified stand by the community to highlight their issues and press for immediate action.
