Train Schedule and Service Modifications Announced in Coimbatore

Coimbatore Southern Railway has announced changes to train timings and services effective April 17, 2024, due to engineering works at Podanur Railway Yard.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Southern Railway administration has released a statement regarding adjustments in train services and timings. These changes will take effect from April 17, 2024, due to engineering works scheduled at Podanur Railway Yard. The modifications are aimed at facilitating smoother execution of these works. Below are the details of affected trains:




Train No. 13351, the Dhanbad - Alappuzha Express, will not stop at Coimbatore Junction on the mentioned date. It will be rerouted via Irugur - Podanur track, with a 2-minute halt at Podanur station.




Train No. 06819, the Erode - Palakkad Town train, will also be operated via the Irugur - Podanur route on the same date, resulting in non-stop movement through Singanallur, Peelamedu, and Coimbatore North and Central stations.




Train No. 16159, the Chennai Egmore - Mangalore Central Express, will bypass several stops, including Peelamedu, Coimbatore Central, and Coimbatore North, as it will also traverse the Irugur - Podanur route.




The Dibrugarh - Kanyakumari Express, Train No. 22504, is set to travel via this temporary route, avoiding a stop at Coimbatore Central.




Additionally, Train No. 06805, the usual Coimbatore - Shoranur train, will depart from Coimbatore Central at 11:55 AM instead of the habitual schedule, and on April 17, it will leave at 1:05 PM.




Passengers are advised to check the latest train schedules and plan their travels accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
