Coimbatore: The Coimbatore-Chennai Intercity train services will undergo modifications on several dates due to track maintenance work near Arakkonam. On the dates of April 17, 24, and 30, the train, which normally runs directly between Coimbatore and Chennai, will experience altered operations.
On these specified dates, the train departing from Coimbatore at 6:20 AM will only travel as far as Katpadi, not continuing to Chennai. Conversely, from Chennai Central, the service to Coimbatore will be terminated at Katpadi and commence the return journey from there.
This adjustment has been confirmed by officials from the Salem Railway Division, highlighting the importance of the maintenance work for ensuring passenger safety and service efficiency.
