Free Transport Service for Senior Citizens and persons with disabilities on poll day in Coimbatore

The Election Commission in association with  Coimbatore's Swarga Foundation, and MK Foundation will be offering free transport to polling stations for senior citizens above 70 years of age and persons with various disabilities in Coimbatore on April 19, aiming for 100% voting.



Coimbatore: In a significant move to promote inclusivity and ensure 100% voter turnout, the Election Commission has teamed up with City's Swarga Foundation and MK Foundation to provide free transportation services to senior citizens (above 70 years) and persons with disabilities for the upcoming parliamentary elections on April 19, 2024 in Coimbatore. 

The initiative, limited to Coimbatore Corporation limits, includes free pickup and drop-off to ensure easy access to polling stations. 

This endeavor underscores a commitment to inclusive elections by facilitating participation from groups often facing mobility challenges.
